Subject: Discover the Transformative Power of Mercy (03/09/'24) >Message

Subject: Discover the Transformative Power of Mercy Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well and thriving. Today, I want to share with you a profound insight that has the potential to reshape our lives and communities: the transformative power of mercy. At its core, the absence of mercy is a root of much turmoil and negativity. It's easy for our relationships to be strained or even destroyed by negative attitudes, behaviors, ego, or ignorance. However, it's essential to recognize that true mercy doesn’t wait for us to be at our best; it meets us amidst our mess. This is a reminder of the boundless nature of God's mercy, which extends far beyond the countless mistakes we make. In reflecting on our societal challenges, consider the significant number of individuals experiencing homelessness, many of whom have been acknowledged by their church communities through baptism. This fact alone prompts us to think about our responsibilities towards those who are struggling. Inspired by biblical teachings, we are reminded that just as a shepherd searches for the one lost sheep, we are called to care for and support those who have lost their way. The message of reversing expectations—where the first shall be last and the last first—invites us to reevaluate our views on value and importance within our social structures. It highlights the radical nature of divine mercy and grace, placing those often marginalized at the forefront of God's kingdom. I encourage each of us to embody this deep understanding of mercy and grace. Let us extend kindness and support to those in turmoil, recognizing our shared humanity and the grace that encompasses us all. Together, we can forge a path away from negativity, fostering a community that celebrates compassion and justice. May this message inspire you to embrace and share the transformative power of mercy, creating ripples of change in our world. Warm regards, Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 9, 2024)
