Subject: Embracing the Overlooked: A Message of Hope and Inclusion (03/01/'24)* >Message

Subject: Embracing the Overlooked: A Message of Hope and Inclusion Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well and thriving. Today, I want to share with you a profound passage that speaks volumes, especially in our contemporary context, regarding our neighbors who find themselves on the fringes of society - the homeless and the poor. The passage comes from Matthew 21:42 and Psalm 118:22-23, which states, "The stone which the builders rejected as worthless turned out to be the most important of all. This was done by the Lord; what a wonderful sight it is!" This message, titled "From Rejection to Cornerstone: Embracing the Marginalized in God's Kingdom," serves as a powerful reminder of God's inclusive love and His divine plan to uplift those who are often disregarded and marginalized by society. In a world where the value of a person is frequently measured by their socio-economic status, this passage challenges us to see beyond societal labels and recognize the inherent worth and potential in everyone, especially the least among us. The metaphor of the rejected stone becoming the cornerstone is a call to action for us all. It invites us to reconsider our perspectives on the homeless and the poor, seeing them not as burdens, but as integral parts of our community with unique contributions to make. God's work often manifests in the most unexpected places and people, turning societal norms on their head and demonstrating that the kingdom of God is built on principles of love, acceptance, and redemption. Let us, therefore, be inspired to extend our hands in solidarity, support, and love to our neighbors who are struggling. Let's be the builders who recognize the value of every stone, especially those previously deemed as worthless. In doing so, we participate in God's transformative work, creating a community that mirrors the inclusive and loving kingdom He envisions for us all. May this message inspire you to look at the world around you with renewed eyes, seeing the beauty and potential in every person, especially those who are often overlooked. Together, let's make a difference, one act of kindness and acceptance at a time. With warmth and hope, Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 2, 2024)
