The Cost of Discipleship: Embodying Faith, Love, and Sacrifice in Following Christ In the pursuit of following Christ, one embarks on a journey far removed from casual or sporadic engagement. It demands a profound, unwavering commitment that permeates every aspect of life. This path is not merely about occasional practice but involves a deep, holistic dedication—a continuous and pervasive way of living that knows no bounds, applicable at all times and in all places. The essence of this discipleship is vividly illustrated in the narrative of Jesus' passion, particularly in His interaction with Peter. When Peter, out of human instinct and affection, objects to Jesus' foretold suffering and death, Jesus' response is enlightening. He admonishes Peter, reminding us that the path of discipleship often confronts worldly logic and desires. It is a journey marked by the surrender of personal agendas in favor of divine will, even when it leads through suffering and sacrifice.
