THE EMPTY TOMB AMONG US ( At 11a.m. 6/11/2026)

> *Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father,

We gather today in gratitude and hope as we remember the life of Your faithful servant, Elder Hejin. Though our hearts feel the sorrow of parting, we thank You for the promise of the Resurrection through Jesus Christ, who was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead.

Thank You for the love she shared, the faith she lived, and the kindness she showed to her family, neighbors, and friends. As we commit her earthly body to Your care, comfort those who mourn, strengthen those who grieve, and remind us that because Christ lives, death does not have the final word.

May the hope of the Empty Tomb fill our hearts today, and may Your peace rest upon this family and all gathered here.

In the name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen.

> *THE EMPTY TOMB AMONG US*

Mark 16:6

"Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here."

Today we gather with grateful hearts to remember Elder Hejin—a faithful mother, grandmother, neighbor, and servant of God. We come with tears because someone precious to us is no longer physically present. Yet we also come with hope because the Christian faith is built upon one of the most remarkable declarations ever spoken:

"He has risen; He is not here."

The Empty Tomb is God's answer to the deepest fear of the human heart. It declares that death does not have the final word. It proclaims that God's love is stronger than the grave and that His purposes continue beyond what our eyes can see.

For more than twenty years, Elder Hejin faithfully served her neighbors and loved her family. Week after week, year after year, she quietly practiced the Gospel through acts of kindness, compassion, generosity, and care. She understood that the Kingdom of God grows not only through great sermons and grand events, but through ordinary acts of love faithfully repeated over a lifetime.

The world often teaches us to pursue wealth, recognition, and success. Yet when life reaches its final chapter, we discover that the most valuable treasures are not things we possess but lives we have touched.

A loving mother.

A praying grandmother.

A faithful friend.

A compassionate neighbor.

These treasures cannot be purchased. They cannot be inherited through a bank account. They cannot be stolen by time. They remain within the hearts of those who receive them.

To her daughters and grandchildren, the stories you remember about her are more than memories. They are a living Gospel. They are signs that Christ was at work through her life.

Every meal she shared.

Every prayer she offered.

Every act of kindness she extended.

Every person she encouraged.

These are seeds planted into the lives of others.

The Resurrection teaches us that God's seeds of life never die. What is planted in love continues to bear fruit long after the planter has gone home to the Lord.

Therefore, the Empty Tomb is not only in Jerusalem.

The Empty Tomb is among us whenever love continues beyond loss.

The Empty Tomb is among us whenever faith is passed from one generation to another.

The Empty Tomb is among us whenever children and grandchildren carry forward the mercy, compassion, and service they witnessed in those who came before them.

Today we thank God for Elder Hejin's life.

We thank God for her witness.

We thank God for the love she gave so freely.

And we pray that her legacy will continue through her family and through all those whose lives she touched.

For Christ is risen.

His love remains.

His Kingdom continues.

And the Empty Tomb still speaks.

May the seeds of faith, hope, and love that Elder Hejin planted continue to grow in every generation.

This is our hope.

This is our inheritance.

This is the power of the Resurrection.

Amen.

---------------------->

> "Your grandmother's greatest gift was not what she left behind, but what she planted within you. If her love for God, her love for family, and her love for neighbors continue through your lives, then the story of the Empty Tomb is still being written among us."

Amen. Emmanuel. Amen.

>**Closing Prayer: Gracious God,

We thank You for the life and witness of Elder Hejin. We thank You for every act of love, every prayer, every kindness, and every seed of faith she planted throughout her years.

As we leave this place, help us carry forward the legacy she leaves behind. May her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her continue to walk in faith, hope, and love. Let the story of the Resurrection remain alive among us, and may the power of the Empty Tomb guide us to serve You and our neighbors with joyful hearts.

Until the day when all who belong to Christ are gathered together in Your eternal Kingdom, keep us steadfast in faith and rich in mercy.

Through Jesus Christ, who said, "He is risen," we offer our thanks and praise.

Amen.

> ***Committal Benediction (Optional Final Sentence at the Graveside)

"Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust; yet in the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection through Jesus Christ our Lord, we commit our sister, Elder Hejin, to God's gracious keeping. For Christ is risen, love is stronger than death, and the Empty Tomb remains our hope forever.   Amen."
