Divine Essence: The Beacon of Justice and Righteousness in Humanity (03/13/'24) -Statement

Divine Essence: The Beacon of Justice and Righteousness in Humanity (Seeds of Divine Justice in a World Seeking Righteousness) In the narrative of human imperfection and divine perfection, it is evident that true justice and righteousness belong solely to God. The conversation between Abraham and God reveals a crucial aspect of divine nature: mercy is intertwined with justice, and even in scenarios of widespread corruption, the existence of a few righteous individuals can alter the course of divine judgment. This demonstrates not only the rarity of true righteousness among humans but also the compassionate consideration of God towards humanity. The quest for a just individual in Jerusalem, as recounted in Jeremiah, further emphasizes the scarcity of righteousness, portraying a world where virtue is an exception rather than the norm. This scarcity underlines the profound gap between divine and human nature, where true goodness and justice are attributes only God possesses, as Jesus Himself acknowledges. Such statements underscore the inherent goodness of God and the aspirational, often unattainable, nature of such purity for humanity. Drawing on the metaphor of a Redwood Tree, which through the simple act of producing seeds can potentially forest an entire landscape, we find a powerful symbol for the impact of divine goodness in the world. Just as a single tree's seeds can lead to the creation of a vast forest, so too can a single act of divine mercy or an example of righteousness inspire widespread virtue among people. The expression of isolation and despair in Lamentations speaks to the human condition, a longing for comfort, and spiritual restoration amidst adversity—a longing that human efforts alone cannot satisfy. It reflects a deep-seated need for the divine, for only God's justice and mercy can truly comfort and restore the spirit of those in despair. These passages collectively articulate a profound truth: while human efforts to achieve righteousness and justice are often flawed and insufficient, the essence of true justice and goodness emanates exclusively from God. This divine purity stands as both a beacon of hope and a call to humanity, urging individuals to seek and embody the fragments of goodness that originate from the divine, even in a world where such virtues are rare. The narrative not only highlights the chasm between human and divine qualities but also offers a vision of hope and renewal through the mercy and justice of God. Pastor Steven G.
