This example goes beyond what society usually expects. In the story from Luke 10:25-37, the Samaritan helps someone who was left alone and hurt, even though priests and scribes ignored the person. This story highlights that the cross is more than just a religious symbol; it's a real part of our lives that shows the challenges and moral decisions we face every day. It represents both our personal and shared spiritual journeys. Jesus' message in this story is that loving God and loving others are deeply connected. Loving others is a way of showing our love for God. This idea of love is not just a religious rule; it's a basic principle for all humans. Following a spiritual path without facing challenges, as symbolized by the cross, doesn't align with what Jesus taught.
