Statement on Balanced Prosperity: Where Our Treasure Lies Where our treasure lies, our heart will follow. In the pursuit of national security, billions are spent on defense, creating a nation strong and powerful. Yet, in this quest for unparalleled safety, we must ask: Are we neglecting what’s truly dear? Are we investing enough in schools that teach, roads that pave, healthcare that heals, and the lives of our citizens? The choices we make today shape our future. Excessive defense spending may lead to an imbalance, causing us to lose sight of future dreams and possibilities. If we neglect the essential investments in education, infrastructure, and healthcare, debt's heavy hand may come to call, and the consequences could be dire. A nation's true strength lies not only in its military might but also in the hearts and minds of its people. We must invest in lives, hopes, and needs, ensuring that every act and deed contributes to the common good. To guard with might and grow with care is to ensure that dreams for all are fair. True power is found in balance, in maintaining harmony between defense and domestic growth. Our future waits in balanced hands, creating a bright fate through wise and equitable investment.
