Rediscovering the True Path of Jesus (05/27/'24) -Statement

Rediscovering the True Path of Jesus In reflecting on the life and teachings of Jesus, it is crucial to remember that He never called for worship. Instead, He walked a path of truth that was simple and profound, a path now obscured by layers of doctrine crafted in His name yet far from His essence. The true voice of His message is found in the agony of the Cross, often misunderstood when shrouded in religion. Jesus is not merely a figure of faith but a living testament of liberation. To truly understand His teachings, we must unravel the enigma and separate the sacred from the constructed. While doctrinal Christianity stands tall, any misdirection is not His fault. Jesus did not come to promise wealth or to fill the coffers of pastors and leaders. Unfortunately, some churches have embraced the prosperity gospel, entwining it with greed and weaving cultural imperialism, capitalism, chauvinism, violence, and bigotry into the fabric of faith, thereby turning His message into a tool of harm. Yet, Jesus stands apart, His truth pure and free. He calls us to disentangle these misconceptions and rediscover the path He laid and the freedom He offered. In the quiet corners of our hearts, His voice still whispers, guiding us back to the essence of His love. Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 27, 2924)
