Statement on the Nature of the Gospel (05/30/'24)

Statement on the Nature of the Gospel The gospel of Jesus Christ reveals humanity not through the lens of righteousness, but through the veils of our own distorted lives, marked by damage, hypocrisy, falsehoods, and evil. The gospel’s perspective is one of sharp critique and denial of the present world, yet it embodies humility, refrains from quarrel, and finds contentment in lowliness. The kingdom of God is characterized by its humble service to the weak, the sinners, and the outcasts, emphasizing that true divinity resides not in grandeur, but in the quiet, loving service to the least among us. This reflection on the gospel challenges us to embrace humility and extend grace, mirroring the heart of Heaven in our everyday actions. Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 30, 2024)
