Overcoming Pain and Suffering: Finding Purpose and Action (05/10/'24)

Overcoming Pain and Suffering: Finding Purpose and Action Humans experience suffering for a reason, and this reason can be articulated using language. The pain we feel, both physical and mental, arises because the energies of the body and mind coexist. This pain serves a purpose, providing an opportunity for resolution. While we can describe the cause of suffering in words, addressing it requires practical action. It's not a challenge to be solved solely through reflection or understanding but needs a tangible application of energy. Humans have both a reason and a purpose to overcome pain and suffering at the cross, which is at the center of it all. The key is to direct this energy effectively. Talking about pain provides clarity about its roots, but only through practice can we address its purpose and achieve our desired goals. Pain itself can drive us towards those goals. While words can outline the reasons for suffering, we cannot eliminate pain through knowledge alone. As long as we possess both body and mind, we must recognize the purpose behind our suffering and address it through conscious, purposeful action. Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 10, 2024)
