Statement: The Perpetual Bridge of Divine Embrace (05/24/'24)
The Perpetual Bridge of Divine Embrace
In the vast expanse of God's presence, the greatest illusion is the sense of separation. The parable of the Prodigal Son, as recounted in Luke 15:11-32, illustrates this truth. The second son, once lost and homeless, returns home through repentance, embraced by his loving father. His journey transforms him, restoring his place in the family with grace.
Meanwhile, the elder son, despite never leaving, feels estranged and homeless in his heart. Struggling with resentment and a sense of injustice, he is blind to the Father's continuous love and presence. The Father, bearing the cross between His sons, embodies unending grace and reconciliation.
This parable is a timeless testament to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, relevant even today. It highlights a stark reality: nearly sixty percent of the homeless are baptized Christians. Despite the illusion of separation, the truth remains that in God's presence, no one is ever truly homeless. The cross stands as the perpetual bridge, inviting every heart to find rest and belonging in the Divine embrace.
God's love is a bridge spanning the deepest chasms, dispelling the illusions that separate us. His call is clear: "All that I have is yours." We are invited to come home to His loving hand, finding rest and everlasting light in His embrace.
