Subject: Divine Revelations and the Mantle of Secrecy (05/03/'24) -Message

Subject: Divine Revelations and the Mantle of Secrecy Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well. Today, I'd like to share some reflections on an intriguing theme that emerges from both the Old and New Testaments: the interplay between divine revelation and the command to maintain secrecy. In the book of Genesis, God makes a profound promise to Abram: all the land that he can see in every direction will belong to his descendants forever. This grand vision, however, comes with a curious directive—Abram is to tell no one about this promise. Similarly, in the Gospels, when Jesus is recognized by His disciples as the Messiah, He instructs them to keep this knowledge secret. These instances suggest that significant divine revelations often come with a mandate of confidentiality. This pattern highlights the sacred nature of such information and suggests a strategic control over its disclosure. The reasons might include preserving the sanctity of the revelation, ensuring the correct timing for broader knowledge, or testing the faith and discretion of those entrusted with such profound truths. Understanding this dynamic invites us to reflect on the deeper aspects of our faith and the responsibilities that come with the revelations we might receive. It’s a reminder of the delicate balance between what we are eager to share and what we are guided to withhold for a time. Warm regards, Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 3, 2024)
