The Path to True Goodness and Salvation (05/09/'24) -Passage

The Path to True Goodness and Salvation Jesus proclaimed, "No one is good, except God alone" (Mk 10:18; Mt 19:17; Lk 18:19). He asked, "Why do you call me good?" to draw attention to the divine source of goodness. Salvation for the Bad: Those who are spiritually lost can be saved only by God when they repent and turn to righteousness (Mk 1:15; Mt 3:2; 4:17). Salvation for the Good: Even those considered morally upright can only be truly good and saved through God's grace when they align themselves with His will (Mt 7:21; Mk 16; Lk 19:10; Mk 16:16; Jn 1:13). Salvation for the Rich: The wealthy, often challenged by material distractions, can also find salvation through God, provided their hearts and actions reflect goodness over greed (Lk 6:25; 12:13-21; 18:18-30; Mk 10:23; 6:24). Hidden Faults in Good Deeds: Even seemingly good deeds can harbor hidden faults that are displeasing to God if they lack genuine righteousness (Mt 23:27-28; 7:21-23; 13:32; Lk 11:44; 6:46). Humility in Judgment: Judging others harshly reflects poorly on oneself; we should treat others with kindness and avoid condescension (Mt 5:22; 5:43-45; 15:11; 5:11; Lk 6:45). Grace Amid Challenges: In difficult times, praise the mercy and grace found in Christ. God loves us even in our darkest moments (Mt 28:20; Jn 3:16). Acting in Faith: Follow what you believe aligns with God's will and seek His purpose for your life (Jn 6:38-40; Mt 6:33; Mk 3:33-35). This structure offers a clear and cohesive summary, guiding believers to seek salvation through humility, repentance, and unwavering faith in God's will. Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 9, 2024)
