Title: The Path to Advancing the Gospel (04/23/'24) -Viewpoint

Title: The Path to Advancing the Gospel Foolishness for Christ's Sake: Embrace humility in service to Christ, recognizing that worldly wisdom may appear as foolishness to those who don't understand the gospel (1 Corinthians 4:10). Actions Speak Louder Than Words: Show mercy without explicitly stating it (James 2:13). Demonstrate love through actions, not just words (1 John 3:18). Keep faith alive through tangible deeds, not mere declarations (James 2:18). Humb le Diligence: Work diligently like ants without boasting, understanding that service to Christ is a duty, not a merit (Luke 17:10). Reversal of Values in the Gospel: The gospel values humility over worldly wisdom (John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 1:25, 21, 18). It does not seek the mighty, but rather calls for humility like that of a child (Matthew 18:1-3; Job 34:24, 12:19). Leaders are compared to grass, and their glory is fleeting in the sight of God (Luke 12:27-28; 1 Peter 1:24-25; Luke 12:24, 26). God's people are depicted as vulnerable and in need of guidance, like sheep or deer in the field (Luke 15:47; Hebrews 3:19). In summary, advancing the gospel involves embodying humility, mercy, love, and faith in action, while recognizing the reversal of worldly values that the gospel presents. Pastor Steven G. Lee (April 23, 2024)
