A Framework of Justice and Power (05/11/'24) -Statement

A Framework of Justice and Power Justice is a virtue celebrated by those who practice it, and righteousness is pursued with unwavering dedication. Ideologies are not just mistaken beliefs or illusions but comprehensive systems that shape perception and guide actions. Thrasymachus argues that justice is the advantage of the stronger and that the laws set by those in power primarily serve their own interests. In this understanding, justice becomes a tool for maintaining the dominance of those who wield authority. Capitalism, as a system, is now under scrutiny, with billionaires expressing concern over its longevity and their continued wealth. The ruling class often passes laws that reinforce their own advantage, even when doing so contradicts broader concepts of fairness. Justice is often presented in a way that benefits those who command the system, while obedience is demanded of the masses. The existing structures may stand strong today, but growing unrest and inequality are causing significant strains on their foundations. As people continue seeking righteousness and fairness, they increasingly question the definitions of justice shaped by the powerful. Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 11, 2024)
