Living the Gospel: Aligning Words with Actions in Faith (05/02/'24) -Statement

Living the Gospel: Aligning Words with Actions in Faith In reflecting upon the teachings of Jesus and the historical mission of gospel preaching, it is evident that the original intent was to share God's word universally, encompassing both believers and non-believers. This contrasts starkly with some modern approaches that target a selective audience, deviating from the gospel's inclusive spirit. Furthermore, Jesus emphasized the indispensable role of the Holy Spirit in preaching, underlining that to preach the gospel without this divine influence is to stray from His teachings. We are called to embody the gospel in our actions as much as in our words, ensuring our deeds reflect our spoken commitments. Jesus criticized the religious leaders of His time for their failure to practice what they preached, as highlighted in Matthew 23:3, reminding us of the importance of authenticity in our faith. Thus, as followers of Christ, we must align our actions with our words, guided by the Holy Spirit, to truly live out the transformative power of the gospel. Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 2, 2024)
