Embracing Compassionate Christian Realism: A Call to Meaningful Engagement (04/20/'24) -Statement

Embracing Compassionate Christian Realism: A Call to Meaningful Engagement In these transformative times, as we witness the old giving way to the new, we are often confronted with uncertainties and challenges. Yet, it is precisely during such periods of change that we have the greatest opportunity to live meaningfully and extend help to others. Drawing strength from our faith and the support we have received from God, as highlighted in 2 Corinthians 1:4, we are empowered to assist those facing difficulties. This capacity to aid is a testament to our shared human experience and the divine assistance we have received. Jesus’ own moments of vulnerability, as recounted in the Gospels (Matthew 26:38; Mark 14:34; John 12:27), remind us that living fully involves embracing our struggles and supporting each other. His emphasis on mercy over mere observance, as expressed in Matthew 9:12-13, Mark 2:17, and Luke 5:31-32, challenges us to focus on compassionate action rather than ritual compliance. Therefore, let us commit to living not just existentially but purposefully, engaging deeply with those around us. As Compassionate Christian Realists, we are called to be healers to the spiritually and physically sick, offering hope and making a tangible difference in our communities. This approach does not just enrich others—it transforms us, fostering a life of profound impact rooted in the principles of Christian faith. Pastor Steven G. Lee (April 20, 2024)
