Statement on the Significance of Resurrection (04/01/2024)

Statement on the Significance of Resurrection The concept of resurrection stands as a divine beacon, illuminating the path of faith and spiritual renewal. It marks God's ongoing project to reclaim our attention and to instill in us the virtues of the Holy Spirit. At its core, resurrection is deeply intertwined with the essence of salvation, rooted in the unshakeable foundation of God through Christ. This divine grace offers us not only meaning and direction but also the precious opportunity for a new beginning, irrespective of our past challenges and circumstances. The words, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die,” (Jn 11:25-26) resonate as a testament to this truth. In the face of life's inevitable conclusion, we are reminded that our existence is a prelude to a more profound reality. Death, often perceived with trepidation, is reframed as a passage rather than an end—serving as a gateway to eternal life rather than a dominion over our mortal coil. It encourages a transformation of perspective, urging us to master our fears through unwavering hope and faith in Christ. For in the embrace of God through Christ, life is eternal and death but a transition. The journey towards eternity is encapsulated in the understanding that death is not our final destination but rather a chariot to heaven. This realization brings to light that "THE GOAL OF HUMAN LIFE IS NOT DEATH, BUT RESURRECTION." It reassures us that our darkest moments are never definitive; they pave the way for resurrection, embodying the truth and life promised in the declaration, “I am the way and the truth and the life (Jn 14:6).” This reflection aims to inspire a renewed perspective on life, death, and the promise of resurrection. It invites us to embrace the endless possibilities of faith and the assurance of a new beginning in eternal life with God. Pastor Steven G. Lee (April 1, 2024)
