Today, I want to share a reflection that has deeply moved me, one that speaks to the very heart of what it means to follow the path of Christianity. It’s about our profound commitment to challenge societal norms that worship power, and our undeniable call to stand firmly on the side of the weak and the vulnerable. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, we are reminded of the power in embracing our vulnerabilities and in God's strength that is made perfect in weakness. This passage serves as a cornerstone for our faith, a faith that is revolutionary at its core. It challenges us to confront violence, arbitrariness, and the pride of power with a steadfast plea for the weak. However, it appears we have drifted from the essence of this calling. Our silence and our complacency have allowed us to adjust all too comfortably to the worship of power. But is this the legacy we want to leave? Is this the truth we want to embody? The answer is a resounding no. We are called to be more than passive observers. We are called to give offense, to shock the world with our radical stance against injustice and our unwavering support for those without voice, without strength. This is not about choosing the easy path but about committing to the righteous path, the path that Jesus himself walked. Let us, therefore, be bold in our faith. Let us be vocal in our opposition to the norms that elevate the strong at the expense of the weak. Our mission is clear: to take a stronger stand in favor of the weak, to prioritize their rights, and to embody the true essence of Christianity. This is a call to action for each one of us.
