Voluntary Following and the Dangers of Greed If you are greedy and love to control others, you will end up neglecting yourself (1 John 3:17; Philippians 2:4; 2 Timothy 3:2-3). Even if you make a lot of money, you are in great danger because you will lose both your mind and body (1 Timothy 6:9-19; Mark 8:6,36; Matthew 19:24; Ephesians 5:5). ___ “For where there is envy and ambition, there is disorder and every kind of evil practice (James 3:16).” The greatness of the gospel of Jesus Christ lies in inspiring and moving people to follow Jesus, the good shepherd, voluntarily.
