A Statement on Transforming Conflict into Peace In an era where the echoes of war are all too common, it is vital to remember that if we do not address these conflicts, they will resolve us in their own grim way. Drawing from the profound teachings of Jesus, who moved from confrontation to reconciliation, we find a blueprint for change. He urged, "Return your sword to its place, for all who take up the sword will perish by it." This instruction is not merely about disarmament but about a fundamental change in our approach to conflict and interaction. We are called to lay down our arms and instead, extend open hands towards one another. Our goal should be to transform our swords into plowshares, using what once wrought destruction to now build and nurture. If war continues to guide our steps, it will ultimately be our undoing. However, if we choose the path of peace, we forge a new legacy—a future characterized by resolution and harmony, where conflict loses its place. As we reflect on this message, let us commit to promoting and embodying peace in every aspect of our lives.
