Balancing Internal Care and External Mission: A Future-Oriented Vision for the Church
Dear Beloved Ones,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a vision for our church that I believe can guide us towards a future where we balance internal care with our mission to reach out to those in need.
In the heart of the church, unity breathes. Our members gather, hearts entwined, forming a sacred weave. Operations hum, finances flow, and governance guides—all centered on those within, where love abides. Yet, beyond these walls lies a world in need. Neighbors cry, and souls need feeding. If we shift our gaze and extend our hand, will the church falter, or will it stand strong?
A tension exists, a balance to find, between internal care and mission aligned. The church is called not just to exist, but to serve, to love, and to persist. Holistic discipleship must be embraced, equipping hearts for every space. From pew to street, from home to land, we are a unified body with mission in hand.
Leadership with vision, clear and bold, and resource allocation where stories are told. Partnerships with communities, strong and true, serving needs in all we do. A church that cares for those inside and reaches out far and wide. Balancing love for member and stranger—in this dance, lies no danger.
For the church, in essence, is a light guiding souls through the darkest night. A beacon of hope in unity and mission, fulfilling its purpose with divine precision. So let us rise with hearts aglow, where internal care and mission flow. The church, in all its grace, exists to bless every place.
Let us work together to make this vision a reality, ensuring that our church remains a place of love, care, and mission.
Warm regards,
Pastor Steven G. Lee (May 25, 2024)
