Echoes of Faith and Risk (05/04/'24) -Statement

Echoes of Faith and Risk In the midst of hardship and poverty, we uncover not new wounds but old fractures already present within us. It's crucial not to dwell in the darkness of our past harms but to seek liberation from the desires that bind us. Jesus challenges us, "Who do you say that I am?"—a profound query that beckons us to define our faith through action and reflection. In embracing this question, laid forth in the scriptures of Mark and Matthew, we discover our path. Risk, therefore, is not found in the action itself but in the hesitation to act while professing faith. True belief in Christ compels us to embrace risk; avoiding risks in our faith journey paradoxically leads to the greatest risk of all. By daring to risk everything for our faith, we transform it from mere belief into tangible reality. To do nothing is to risk everything—thus, in Christ, we must act, believe, and transform.
