Embracing Healing Through Relationships and Forgiveness (04/11/'24) -Statement

Embracing Healing Through Relationships and Forgiveness It is essential to recognize that homelessness extends beyond mere financial hardship; more often, it arises when individuals lose supportive relationships. When people are deprived of these essential connections, they are at a higher risk of ending up without a home. Forgiveness serves as a powerful mechanism for healing, not only within ourselves but also across our families and communities. By offering up our grief, weaknesses, and distress to God, we exchange them for divine comfort and healing grace. This exchange is supported by the wisdom found in Psalm 46:1, which describes God as "our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble," emphasizing the unwavering support provided during our most challenging moments. Furthermore, the plea highlighted in Luke 23:34, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing," underscores the profound impact of forgiveness. This call encourages us to extend mercy and understanding, thereby facilitating personal and communal reconciliation. In conclusion, strengthening our relationships and embracing the practice of forgiveness are crucial steps toward personal and global healing. Let us commit to enhancing our connections and fostering forgiveness to heal both ourselves and the world around us. Ptr Steven G. Lee
