The Eternal Nature of the Soul and the Healing Power of Divine Grace (04/01/'24) -Passage

The Eternal Nature of the Soul and the Healing Power of Divine Grace Our souls possess an eternal nature, immune to the aging that afflicts our bodies. Embracing life through Christ offers a profound healing for our souls, which suffer from ailments far more perilous than any physical disease. It is crucial to attune ourselves to the voice of our conscience, a clear guide emanating from our soul, indicating the path toward healing and wholeness. The ailments of the soul, unlike those of the body, carry a weight and danger that can profoundly affect our essence. Yet, the mercy and grace found in Christ wield immense power, capable of mending our fractured souls through the transformative strength of God's love. As declared, "Behold, all souls are mine... the soul that sins, it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:4), highlighting the divine ownership and judgment of our spiritual beings. In the spirit of sincerity and truth, as echoed by Paul in his declaration of honesty and integrity guided by the Holy Spirit (Romans 9:1), and his commitment to upholding a blameless conscience before God and humanity (Acts 24:16), we are reminded of the importance of spiritual accountability. Ownership of one's body can only be fully realized under the sovereignty of a single master, for it is impossible to serve multiple masters with equal devotion. The fragmentation of loyalty leads to a loss of autonomy, especially evident in the worship of idols, which signifies a departure from the true mastery of one's being. This principle reinforces the concept that every soul inherently belongs to God (Ezekiel 18:4), a foundational truth supported by various biblical teachings including the Ten Commandments, Ezekiel 18:20, and Romans 6:23. This holistic view underscores the indivisible link between divine ownership and our spiritual and physical stewardship. Pastor Steven G. Lee (April 1, 2024)
