Embracing the Kingdom of God: A Call to Transformation and Empathy* (04/18/'24) -Statement
Embracing the Kingdom of God: A Call to Transformation and Empathy
"The Kingdom of God is nearer than you think," teaches Jesus (Mark 1:15). It is crucial to recognize the value in the immediate and familiar, rather than always seeking what is distant. Jesus urges a shift in perspective, reminding us that "The Kingdom of God is at hand" (Matthew 3:2, Matthew 4:17, Mark 1:15). To those seeking forgiveness, He offers absolution: "Be forgiven" (John 20:23). For those striving to do good, He reminds us that it is by grace we are saved, enabling us to perform acts of kindness.
Just as we may not notice the comfort of a well-fitting shoe or belt, let our actions towards others become equally effortless. Jesus encapsulates this principle: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Matthew 7:12). Let us live our lives with grace and empathy, transforming our actions to reflect the nearness of God's Kingdom.
