Guided by Mercy, Anchored in Justice (04/09/'24) -Statement

Guided by Mercy, Anchored in Justice In the pursuit of solace and peace, it is at the mercy seat where we find ourselves enveloped by the peace of God, a peace that surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). This divine peace, distinct from worldly tranquility, stands as a testament to the sovereign power of God, a power that engages in conflict without the spill of blood, contrary to the violence often employed by the forces of evil. The strength we derive from divine love—God’s love—reveals a fundamental truth: It is not in destruction that love shows its might, but in the empowerment and resilience it bestows upon us. This empowerment is crucial, for the triumph of evil is only made possible through the inaction of the just. Silence and inactivity in the face of injustice only serve to amplify the voice and reach of evil. The call for justice, echoed in the words "Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream" (Amos 5:24), is a clarion call for action. It urges us to not only seek justice but to infuse our actions with mercy, for justice without mercy veers into cruelty. The divine wisdom in "Mercy triumphs over judgment" (James 2:13) illuminates the path we are to follow, one where mercy and justice intertwine to guide us towards a more compassionate and equitable world. Thus, as we navigate the complexities of our world, let us anchor ourselves to the principles of mercy, justice, and peace. By embodying these values, we commit to transforming our world, one act of kindness at a time, steadfast in our belief that it is through divine love and mercy that we find our true strength and purpose.
