Conscience and Holiness: The Divine Imperative for a Sanctified Life (02/24/'24)

Conscience and Holiness: The Divine Imperative for a Sanctified Life Conscience represents the highest gift from the Divine, emblematic of our human dignity. It stands invulnerable to idolatry, asserting its authority over superficial allegiances. Our lives, enriched by this divine bequest, hinge on the manner in which we exercise our autonomy. However, when free will diverges from the path of conscience, it becomes detrimental, akin to venom. The conscience serves as a clarion, amplifying moral imperatives; to disregard it is to endure an incessant torment of the soul. Within our conscience breathes the essence of the Divine, a testament to our spiritual communion. Embracing compassion and embodying the virtues of Christ through repentance is the essence of sanctity. The presence of the profane within the sacred, and conversely, recognizing the sacred amidst the profane, delineates the journey toward genuine holiness. This path mandates repentance, bearing one's burdens with grace, and a steadfast following in the footsteps of Christ. The call to holiness is universal and timeless, as articulated in 1 Peter 1:15-16, urging us to mirror the sanctity of our Creator in every facet of our existence, inspired by the Divine command, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." Similarly, Leviticus 20:26 emphasizes our consecration to the Divine, set apart to reflect the holiness of the Lord, who has chosen us as His own. This sacred covenant beckons us to transcend our limitations, embracing a life of purity and dedication. Pastor Steven G. Lee (February 24, 2024)
