Subject: Embracing the Journey from Shadows to Sunshine (02/28/'24) >Message

Subject: Embracing the Journey from Shadows to Sunshine Dear Friends and Family, In these challenging times, we've observed a disheartening erosion of values within our families and societies, signaling a disturbing shift in our cultural landscape. This decline manifests through visible violence and destruction in our cities, painting our streets with the strokes of oppression and deceit. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, there's a profound truth we must remember: sin, much like bubbles, is destined to burst or deflate eventually, unveiling the fears hidden within us. This concept is beautifully encapsulated in the Scripture, "Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death" (James 1:15). This passage vividly illustrates the perilous trajectory from temptation to the inevitable outcome of sin. However, there's a beacon of hope and a pathway to transformation. The Bible assures us, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Confession isn't merely about acknowledging our wrongdoings; it's a sincere commitment to change, underpinned by an understanding of divine mercy and justice. Moreover, we are urged to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12), highlighting the importance of personal responsibility and diligence in our spiritual journey. This call emphasizes the seriousness of our choices and the profound respect we must hold for the divine process of salvation. By surrendering to the will of God and accepting it as the guiding force of our lives, we open ourselves to His transformative power. Such surrender promises that "God's saving power will rise on you like the sun and bring healing like the sun's rays. You will be as free and happy as calves out of a stall" (Malachi 4:2). This imagery not only brings hope but also offers a vision of joy and freedom akin to calves released from confinement. Let us embrace this journey from repentance to redemption, marked by a profound transformation where acknowledgment of our sins and the embrace of divine forgiveness pave the way for a life aligned with God's will. It's a path filled with liberation, joy, and spiritual renewal, guiding us towards the ultimate healing and freedom found in divine grace. May we all find our way from the shadows to the sunshine, guided by faith and the promise of a new beginning. Warmest regards, Pastor Steven G. Lee (February 28, 2024)
