Embracing True Leadership: A Lesson in Service and Humility (02/19/'24)

Embracing True Leadership: A Lesson in Service and Humility Hey friends, I stumbled upon something truly beautiful and thought-provoking today, and I felt compelled to share it with you all. Imagine walking with Jesus on the road to His crucifixion, where He sees the tears of those around Him and says, "Weep not for me, but for yourselves, and for your children." It's a powerful reminder that true leadership and greatness come from serving others, not from being served. Jesus's journey wasn't just about carrying His own cross; it was a lesson in looking beyond our personal struggles and serving those who need us most—the "little ones" among us. He taught us that the greatest among us are those who serve with humility and love. In our world today, we often see leadership as a position of power or authority. But Jesus flipped this idea on its head. He told us, "Don't seek titles or positions. Instead, be servants." The greatest leaders, according to Him, are those who dedicate themselves to serving others. This message isn't just ancient wisdom; it's a call to action for us, here and now. It challenges us to rethink what it means to lead and to love. Let's strive to be the kind of friends, family members, and leaders who serve with compassion and humility. Let's make our world a little brighter, one act of kindness at a time. What do you all think? How can we put this beautiful idea into practice in our own lives? Much love, Pastor Steven G. Lee (February 19, 2024)
