Subject: Discovering the True Essence of Humanity Through Christ's Teachings (02/24/'24) < Message

Subject: Discovering the True Essence of Humanity Through Christ's Teachings Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well and thriving. Today, I felt compelled to share some reflections on the profound nature of benevolence and its deep connection to what it truly means to be human, as illuminated by Christ's teachings. At the core of our existence lies the virtue of benevolence, an attribute so fundamental that it defines the human spirit. This principle is vividly embodied in the boundless compassion and sacrifice of Christ, offering us a mirror to see the essence of true humanity. It's crucial to understand that any form of discrimination dilutes the purity of love Christ taught us, leading us away from the path of genuine benevolence. When we drift from these teachings, we find ourselves distanced from the divine love that is our birthright. However, there is hope in rediscovery. Being touched by Christ's compassionate love can transform us, prompting a journey of repentance and self-reflection. By adopting Christ's perspective, we can ensure our actions are in harmony with the gospel, preventing conflicts and fostering a community of love and understanding. The Bible emphasizes the importance of genuine love and faith (Romans 12:9; 2 Corinthians 6:6), beautifully illustrated in Jesus's interactions with Peter (John 21:17; Matthew 26:75). Jesus's understanding and reaffirmation of his love for Peter, despite Peter's flaws, teaches us the value of recognizing sincerity and intention in one's heart. Believing in and adhering to the gospel's teachings is a profound journey, akin to holding a position of great honor. It's essential that we do not forsake our authenticity for material gain or succumb to the allurements of fame and worldly pleasures. A Christian who abandons their foundational beliefs for earthly desires has veered off the path, confusing the end of their spiritual journey with its beginning. Let us hold steadfast to our core beliefs and the mission of the gospel, remembering the importance of benevolence, genuine love, and faith in our daily lives. May we continue to be inspired by Christ's teachings, striving to embody the true essence of humanity in all that we do. Wishing you all peace and love, Pastor Steven G. Lee (February 24, 2024)
