Statement on the Interconnectedness of Life and Faith (03/29/'24) -Statement

Statement on the Interconnectedness of Life and Faith We Acknowledge: The collective nature of our existence, as emphasized by the wisdom of Scripture, notably through Jeremiah 10:23, which states, "Our lives are not our own." This principle underlines the belief that our individual paths are part of a larger, divinely orchestrated purpose, integrating the care and love for others as an extension of ourselves. We Recognize: The sanctity of our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit, guided by the teachings of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. This Scripture compels us to honor God with our bodies, treating ourselves and others with purity, respect, and as stewards of the divine presence within us. We Embrace: Liberation in Christ from fear and death, a cornerstone of our faith that enables us to live with courage and purpose. This freedom allows us to view our existence through the lens of eternity, striving for righteousness and aligning our lives with divine truth. We Caution Against: Transforming our bodies into dens of robbers or houses of trade, a metaphorical warning that draws on Jesus' cleansing of the temple to call for introspection and purification in our intentions and actions. It urges us to maintain the sanctity of our lives, avoiding selfish gains or immoral acts, and to live in accordance with God's commandments. In Conclusion: Our statement reflects a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of life and faith. We are called to live lives that are not only in harmony with God's will but also in loving service to others. By acknowledging the divine tapestry of which we are a part, we commit to honoring God with our entire being and embracing the responsibilities of our faith in Christ. Pastor Steven G.
