Subject: Who Is Your Neighbor? Embracing Mercy and Love (03/30/'24) -Message

Subject: Who Is Your Neighbor? Embracing Mercy and Love Dear Friends, In reflecting upon the timeless wisdom shared in Luke 10:25-37, a passage that challenges us to reconsider our perceptions of neighborliness, we find a profound message that resonates deeply in today's world. It teaches us that our neighbors are not just those who live nearby or those we share similarities with. Instead, our neighbors are those who extend mercy and kindness to us, embodying the parable of the Good Samaritan. The essence of this message is not to judge who is worthy of our help or to measure the extent of their need. Our true calling is to embody compassion and kindness, to uplift those who have fallen, to mend what has been broken, and to bring healing to those in pain. This path of unconditional love and mercy is not just a moral duty; it is a profound expression of our humanity and a reflection of divine love. In this journey of life, we are reminded to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This love is not passive; it is an active commitment to lift others, knowing that we rise by lifting others. In doing so, we not only fulfill a divine command but also weave a tapestry of community and solidarity that can withstand the trials of life. Let us then go forth, inspired by this timeless message, to act with mercy, to love without reservation, and to see the face of our neighbor in everyone we meet. Together, let's build a world where love and kindness are the foundations of every interaction. Amen. Wishing you peace and love, Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 30, 2024)
