Subject: Exploring the Intersection of Faith and Cryptocurrency (03/22/'24) -Message

Subject: Exploring the Intersection of Faith and Cryptocurrency Dear friends, I hope this message finds you well. I've been reflecting on the unique intersection between our Christian faith and the modern financial phenomenon of Bitcoin and felt compelled to share some insights with you. The Positive Aspects of Bitcoin Through a Biblical Lens Stewardship and Innovation: Our faith teaches us the importance of managing God's gifts wisely. Bitcoin, as a novel resource, presents an opportunity for wise stewardship, aligning with the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30). Financial Freedom for Good: The decentralization offered by Bitcoin can provide new ways to support others financially, echoing the biblical calls to generosity (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). Concerns and Cautions from a Faith Perspective The Volatility of Wealth: Scripture warns us about the uncertainties of riches (1 Timothy 6:17). The inherent risks in Bitcoin investments could be viewed through this lens of caution. Materialism and Ethical Dilemmas: Our faith warns against idolizing wealth (Matthew 6:24). The anonymity of Bitcoin also raises ethical questions, especially regarding its potential misuse. A Vision for the Future Our guiding principle should always be to use our resources for God's glory, aligning our investments and financial decisions with His teachings. Whether it's Bitcoin or any other form of wealth, our focus should remain on stewardship, ethical use, and the promotion of Godly values in all we do. I believe that as we navigate these modern financial waters, our faith can provide a strong anchor, guiding us towards decisions that not only benefit us financially but also enrich our spiritual lives and those of others. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this matter. How do you see our faith intersecting with new financial technologies like Bitcoin? Warm regards, Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 22, 2024)
