Subject: Discovering the True Essence of Worship with Jesus
Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving in your spiritual journey. Today, I am compelled to share a reflection that has deeply touched my heart, concerning the authentic essence of worship as taught by Jesus.
Jesus demonstrated through His life that actions speak louder than words. His use of parables, such as the profound story of the blind leading the blind, served not just to instruct but to illuminate spiritual truths in a way that words alone could not. This approach underscores a pivotal lesson: the importance of embodying the principles we learn.
Consider the powerful analogy Jesus offers in Luke 6:46-49, comparing the wise and foolish builders. This parable is a vivid reminder that living according to Jesus' teachings is akin to building our lives on a rock-solid foundation. It's this foundation that ensures we remain unshaken by life's tumults. Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross further exemplifies the depth of His commitment to practicing what He preached, embodying the very essence of God's will.
In Jesus' teachings, worship transcends mere words or specific locations—it's about worshiping in spirit and truth, wherever we are. Yet, it seems that over time, the emphasis in worship has shifted, often favoring the vocal proclamation of the gospel over the enactment of God's will through faithful actions.
Jesus' message to us is clear: the gospel and God's will are inseparable, urging us to harmonize our faith with our actions. This challenges contemporary norms, calling us back to the heart of Christian discipleship—living in full alignment with God's will, as Jesus Himself did.
As we share this journey, let's encourage one another to embrace this model of true worship. Let our lives reflect our faith, not just in words but in meaningful action. Let's honor Jesus' teachings by being builders on the rock, manifesting the gospel through our deeds.
May this message inspire you as much as it has inspired me. Let's carry this truth in our hearts and let it shape our daily lives.
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 5, 2024)
