Subject: Living Our Divine Purpose through the Gospel (03/02/'24) >Message

Subject: Living Our Divine Purpose through the Gospel Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well and thriving in your journey of faith. Today, I felt compelled to share a reflection that has deeply inspired me, centered on the profound theme of "Emulating Christ: Living Our Divine Purpose through the Gospel." It's a call to each of us to mirror the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, not just as a historical figure to admire but as a living example to follow. In Philippians 2:5-8, we're reminded of the humility and servant leadership of Jesus. He, being in the form of God, chose to take on the nature of a servant, showing us the path of humility and obedience. This passage challenges us to adopt the same mindset in our lives, serving others with humility and love. 1 Peter 2:21 further emphasizes this by stating that Christ left us an example to follow His steps closely. It's a call to action for every believer to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, practicing compassion, kindness, and forgiveness in our daily lives. Moreover, the Great Commission, as detailed in Matthew 28:19-20, entrusts us with the responsibility to spread the Gospel and disciple others in the teachings of Jesus. It's a divine task that extends beyond the constraints of time and place, urging us to make disciples of all nations. John 14:12-17 speaks to the empowerment we receive through the Holy Spirit to continue Jesus' work on earth. It's a powerful reminder that through faith, we are equipped to do even greater works, guided by the Spirit of truth who dwells within us. Lastly, Galatians 5:22-25 calls us to live by the Spirit, exhibiting the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These virtues are the hallmark of a life lived in alignment with Christ's teachings, driven by the Spirit. This message isn't just a call to reflection but to immediate action. It's a reminder that our time on this earth is an opportunity to live out the divine purpose God has entrusted to us, following the example of Jesus Christ. Let us then, with renewed commitment, strive to emulate Christ in our actions, decisions, and interactions with others. May this message encourage you to deepen your walk with Christ, embracing the guidance of the Holy Spirit in fulfilling your divine purpose. Together, let's embark on this journey of faith, transforming our lives and those around us through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Blessings, Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 2, 2024)
