A Message of Faith and Courage (03/02/'24) >Message

A Message of Faith and Courage Hey friends, I came across a powerful concept that I felt compelled to share with you. It's about the journey we all go through, symbolized as carrying our own unique crosses. This journey places us at a constant crossroads, challenging us to choose between right and wrong, life and death. Interestingly, amidst these choices, the most crucial focus is our alignment with the Holy Spirit, simplifying life's complex dilemmas into a quest for spiritual integrity. In moments of decision, it's not about weighing the pros and cons but about making a choice with unwavering faith. It's a reminder that seeking to avoid life's crosses for mere survival is likened to a soldier fleeing the battlefield—a form of spiritual cowardice. Yet, embracing our crosses, even if it leads to a death of sorts, aligns us with the grace and spirit of Jesus. This idea draws from Jesus' teachings, especially the notion of "bearing one's own cross" (Luke 14:27), which goes beyond enduring hardships to a deeper commitment to following Jesus, even if it means facing death. Jesus’ ultimate act of trust—"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit" (Luke 23:46)—and His assertion that not bearing one’s cross renders one unworthy of Him (Matthew 10:38) are profound reminders of the essence of our faith journey. This message isn't about gloom but about courage, faith, and the choice to follow a path aligned with divine will, regardless of the consequences. It's a call to embrace our journey with bravery, knowing that in doing so, we walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Thought this was a powerful reminder of what it truly means to live a life of faith and conviction. Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Take care and stay strong in faith, Pastor Steven G. Lee (March 2, 2024)
