Breaking Chains: America's Journey to Redemption Through the Gospel (06/29/'24) -Message

Breaking Chains: America's Journey to Redemption Through the Gospel In the heart of a land where shadows grow and troubles flow, America finds itself in the grip of addictions: guns, drugs, pornography, alcoholism, racism, and capitalism. These chains have not only taken root in the human psyche but also deeply influence our societal, political, and economic spheres. The critical question looms large: Can America’s future sustain itself amidst these pervasive addictions? Yet, amid the darkness, a beacon of hope emerges—a call to action, clear and resounding. “I believe America is addicted,” echoes Pastor Steven G. Lee, but he does not leave us in despair. He reminds us of the unshakeable truth: “God cannot be tempted by evil” (James 1:13-14). GOD IS FAITHFUL. GOD BREAKS ALL CHAINS, NOT PROMISES. I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the antidote to America’s addictions. Amen. From guns to peace, we are called to turn, embracing Christ’s teachings on loving one’s neighbor and cultivating a culture of peace and conflict resolution. Where drugs once thrived, let spiritual fulfillment and community support counteract the emptiness that leads to substance abuse. In the face of lust and the grasp of pornography, let purity rise, promoting respect for human dignity and the sanctity of relationships. For those ensnared by alcoholism’s might, the Gospel offers the hope of transformation and new life in Christ. Racism’s chains must be broken apart, advocating for equality and justice, recognizing that all people are created in the image of God. In a world driven by capitalism, let us encourage a focus on stewardship, generosity, and serving others rather than the pursuit of material wealth. The future of America lies not in succumbing to these addictions but in turning towards the redemptive power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through repentance and faith, we can address these deep-seated issues and transform society for the better. This transformation requires a collective commitment to live out the principles of the Gospel in every aspect of our lives. In the heart of a land where shadows grow, where addictions bind and troubles flow, a voice arises, strong and clear, a message of hope for all to hear. America, bound by guns and drugs, in the grip of vices, tight as thugs, pornography’s grasp, and alcohol’s chains, racism’s scars, capitalism’s gains. Yet, amid the darkness, light can shine, through the Gospel’s truth, so pure, divine. God is faithful, unbreakable, true, His promises hold, His love renews. From guns to peace, we are called to turn, in Christ’s embrace, let compassion burn. Where drugs once thrived, let joy now grow, spiritual fulfillment, the only flow. In the face of lust, let purity rise, with respect and love, let’s cleanse our eyes. For those ensnared by alcohol’s might, in Christ’s strength, find the power to fight. Racism’s chains, we must break apart, all are God’s children, each a work of art. In a world of greed, let’s seek to give, in stewardship and love, truly live. The future’s path lies not in these binds, but in repentance, where freedom finds. A call to action, let us heed, the Gospel’s power, our lives to lead. America’s hope, in faith, we stand, transforming hearts, healing the land. A beacon of light, a call so grand, with Christ as our guide, we take His hand. Through repentance, faith, and love’s embrace, we’ll see the dawn of a brighter place. A nation renewed, in unity, rise, under God’s banner, beneath His skies. Let us commit to this journey of redemption, breaking the chains of addiction through the transformative power of the Gospel. Together, we can forge a future of hope, unity, and divine purpose. Amen. Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
