Embracing Our Call to Justice and Righteousness (06/26/'24) -Message

Embracing Our Call to Justice and Righteousness Dear Friends and Community Members, In our journey through life, we often encounter moments that challenge our core values and principles. It is during these times that we must recall the strength and clarity that come from steadfast spiritual and moral commitments. In the story of Jesus' temptation in the wilderness, as depicted in Matthew 4, we find a profound example of divine defiance against the allure of earthly power and immediate gratification. Satan's offer to Jesus—"All this I will give you, if you fall down and worship me"—is a stark reminder of the temptations we face in our own lives. Yet, Jesus' response, "Away from me, Satan!" serves as a powerful declaration of His commitment to God's path and righteousness. This narrative inspires us to reflect on our own responses to the challenges and temptations we encounter. Are we able to stand firm in our convictions and choose paths that align with justice and righteousness? The ancient call from the prophet Amos, "Let justice roll on like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream" (Amos 5:24), urges us not only to reject wrongdoing but to actively cultivate justice and integrity in our actions and interactions. Let us take this message to heart and strive to be like rivers of righteousness in our communities, unwavering and ever-flowing, shaping a world that upholds the values of justice, integrity, and compassion. Together, we can build a legacy of moral courage and spiritual fidelity that mirrors the divine defiance Jesus exemplified. With warm regards and steadfast commitment, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 26, 2024)
