Subject: Embracing the Peace of God by Casting Away Selfish Ambition (06/30/'24) -Message

Subject: Embracing the Peace of God by Casting Away Selfish Ambition Dear Beloved in Christ, In our daily lives, we often find ourselves grappling with the insidious roots of jealousy and selfish ambition. These seeds of discord can lead to disorder and every vile practice, as James 3:16 so poignantly reminds us. But there is a higher calling, a divine invitation to rise above this turmoil and embrace a life of peace and righteousness. The sacred scriptures guide us with clear and powerful directives: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself." This dual commandment is not just a lofty ideal but a practical roadmap for transforming our lives. We are urged to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, casting off the burdens of worldly anxieties. By denying ourselves and taking up the cross, we embark on a journey of profound transformation. It is in this surrender that we gain true life, finding security not in the fleeting praise of men but in the enduring light of Christ. If we abandon our selfish thoughts and desires, embracing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we discover a shield of grace that protects our very lives. This is a sacred exchange: our frailty for His strength, our chaos for His peace. In this divine alignment, our hearts are purified, and our intentions are clarified. As we strive with renewed hearts, guided by love and faith, we remain true to our calling. Where His love and truth persist, disorder and vile practices cannot thrive. Instead, the beauty of His peace takes root, flourishing in the garden of our souls. Let us commit to casting away selfish ambition and embracing the Gospel. In doing so, we find not only protection but a profound peace that surpasses all understanding. This journey of transformation, guided by His love, leads us to a place where the beauty of His peace reigns supreme. May we all strive to live in this divine peace, allowing His love to guide our steps and His truth to light our path. In Christ's love and peace, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 30, 2024)
