Message: Rejoicing in Eternal Triumph (06/29/'24)

Message: Rejoicing in Eternal Triumph Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Today, I invite you to meditate on a profound truth revealed to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. In the gospel passages of Luke, Mark, and John, we are reminded of the extraordinary authority granted to us by God. We have been given the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and to conquer all the power of the enemy. This authority is a testament to the divine strength that flows through us as followers of Christ. Yet, within this remarkable gift lies a gentle, yet powerful reminder from our Savior: "Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:20). This statement invites us to shift our focus from the temporal to the eternal, from earthly triumphs to heavenly grace. Our true victory is not found in the power we wield or the authority we possess over spirits and principalities. Instead, our greatest joy should stem from the assurance that our names are written in the book of heaven. This eternal inscription signifies our salvation, our place in the eternal home prepared for us above. Let us reflect on this divine paradox. While we may walk with authority and command respect from even the spirits, our hearts should remain humbled by the grace that has saved us. Our joy should not be rooted in the power to perform miracles or command spiritual beings, but in the eternal grace of our salvation through Jesus Christ. As we navigate the challenges and triumphs of this life, let us keep our eyes fixed on the ultimate reward. Our names, shining forever bright in the Lamb's book of life, represent the true triumph we should celebrate. In heaven's scroll lies our victory, a victory that transcends all earthly power and authority. Rejoice, therefore, not in the fleeting marvels of this world, but in the eternal grace and salvation we have received. Embrace the joy of knowing that your name is forever penned in the book of heaven, and let this truth be the foundation of your faith and the source of your deepest joy. In Christ’s love and grace, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
