Foundation of Life: Truth, Mercy, and Faithfulness to God (06/26/'24) -Passage

Foundation of Life: Truth, Mercy, and Faithfulness to God My heart is sick, deeply burdened by the state of my people. Is there no medicine? Are there no doctors who can heal this land? Why, then, have my people not been healed? They have been misled by their own friends, and no one speaks the truth. They have trained their tongues to lie and refuse to turn away from their sinful ways. Violence follows violence, and deceit fills their words to their neighbors. Will I not punish such behavior? Will I not take revenge on a nation so corrupted? I, the Lord, have spoken. Be merciful to your neighbors, just as the Lord God is merciful to you. Remember that tests will come. Do not ask, "Why me?" Consider Abraham, who faced the fire of trials; Jacob, who endured blindness; Joseph, who suffered separation; Job, who battled illness; Moses, who confronted tyrants; Aaron, who dealt with betrayal; Jonah, who learned patience; Solomon, who governed a kingdom; and David, who fought wars. Do not seek revelations from your wealth and possessions, for they are not the foundation of your life. The foundation of human life lies in truth, mercy, and faithfulness to God. Let your actions reflect His mercy and justice, and anchor your life in His eternal truths. Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 26, 2024)
