The Sacred Dance of Discipline and Mercy (06/16/'24) -Message

The Sacred Dance of Discipline and Mercy Subject: Embracing God's Guidance and Mercy Dear Friends, In the quiet moments of reflection, we are reminded of God's loving voice: "I am the One who corrects and disciplines everyone I love." Each word is a tender caress, a reminder that love often wears the guise of correction. We are called to honesty, to turn from indifference, as a gentle but firm nudge towards the light that yearns to shine within our hearts. The Spirit speaks to us, a whisper on the wind, urging us to listen and understand. This call is not just for the individual but for the collective heart of our churches. "Anyone who is willing to hear should listen," the Spirit says. In listening, we find the path to understanding what the Spirit is saying to us all. God's discipline is a guiding hand, leading us through the labyrinth of life's problems. Each correction is proof of our place as beloved children. It is in this divine guidance that we find our footing and way forward. Yet, within the sternness of justice, mercy finds its place, blooming with richer fruits and offering an endless grace that strict justice alone could never yield. Turn now and let the shadows of indifference fade. Embrace the light, the truth, and the way. In the balance of discipline and mercy, love's debt is paid, and we find ourselves cradled in the warm embrace of God's endless love. In every whisper and every fall, God's presence is near, guiding us back to the light. Mercy flows where justice can, and in its gentle embrace, we find the strength to rise again. Turn, listen, and understand, for in this sacred dance of discipline and mercy, we are forever held and forever loved. Blessings, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 16, 2024)
