Message: Embracing the Fear of the Lord (06/'24/'24)

Message: Embracing the Fear of the Lord Dear Beloved Congregation, Today, I want to share with you a profound truth that is often overlooked in our journey of faith: the fear of the Lord. In a world that often misunderstands and misinterprets this concept, it is crucial for us to grasp its true meaning and significance. Whoever fears the will of God finds safety. This fear is not a terror that paralyzes but a reverence that guides. It is in the reverence of His will that we find the courage to reject sin, understanding that to love God is to abhor sin’s deceit. For those who do not fear sin, it is a sign that they do not truly know the heart of the Divine. The path of peace remains elusive for many because there is no fear of God before their eyes. They wander, lost in the illusions of the world, estranged from the wisdom that calls to them. As the scripture laments, “The way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:17-18). Their hearts are blind, and their spirits are ensnared by the empty promises of the world. However, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. It is a beacon shining through the darkness of life’s night, guiding us to shun illusions and depart from lies. In holy fear, wisdom begins its sacred journey, igniting a cleansing fire within us. The fear of God burns away deception, leading our souls toward higher truths and purer desires. Reverence for the Lord births deep understanding, breaking the chains of ignorance. For those who fear the Lord, grace becomes their constant companion. In the fear of sin, true love awakens, drawing us closer to the heart of God. Let us, therefore, embrace the path of holy fear. In the fear of God lies profound peace, and within His will, we find eternal love. This sacred fear is not about terror but awe, not about dread but profound respect. It illuminates our lives and guides us toward the heart of the Divine. In the fear of the Lord, we find not only safety but the beginning of true knowledge. This wisdom leads us away from the illusions of this world and into the light of His eternal truth. May we walk in the fear of the Lord, embracing the wisdom that flows from above. Let us find our safety, peace, and eternal love in His divine will. Blessings to you all, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 24, 2024)
