Embracing Eternal Joy: Anchored in Assurance (06/21/'24) -Message

Embracing Eternal Joy: Anchored in Assurance Beloved friends, In the quiet depths of our hearts, a divine assurance lies. This assurance is not found in the grandeur of miracles or the spectacle of extraordinary feats. Instead, it resides in the ancient and bold story of our salvation. Jesus himself reminds us in Luke 10:20, "Rejoice as citizens of heaven, not in the power that makes demons flee." Our true joy, our profound rejoicing, comes from knowing that our names are inscribed in the light of heaven, outshining even the darkest and most wondrous night. Miracles, though awe-inspiring, can sometimes lead us astray. They can tempt us to place ourselves at the center, allowing pride to take hold. But the assurance of our salvation, pure and steadfast, anchors our souls in a love that is secure and unshakable. This assurance is a testament to divine grace, a bright light in the registry of heaven. We are saved not by our works or deeds, but by His mercy and His holy name. The essence of the gospel becomes clear in this assurance we hold dear. It aligns our lives with heaven's purpose and design. It guards against the fleeting confidence that comes from our achievements and centers us in the eternal truth of God's grace and love. So let our joy be deeply rooted in the promise of salvation, undisputed and eternal. Rejoicing in this assurance, we find our way in the light of the gospel, living lives that reflect its true essence and honor the One who gave us this precious gift. Let us remember that our motivation for life itself must be grounded in this assurance. Without it, we risk valuing our self-centered abilities over the transformative power of the gospel. Our lives must not deviate from the essence of the gospel but instead be a testament to the eternal joy and peace found in our salvation. Rejoice, dear friends, as citizens of heaven. Let this assurance be the foundation of your faith and the anchor of your soul. In Christ's love, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 21, 2024)
