Eternal Embrace: Assurance Beyond Miracles
Dear [Recipient],
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some reflections on the profound assurance of salvation that we find in our faith, surpassing even the most miraculous wonders.
In the quiet chambers of the heart, faith finds its repose, not in grand displays of miracles but in the gentle assurance that blooms within the soul. This assurance, deeply rooted in Christ's loving embrace, is a tranquil grace that surpasses all earthly wonders. Through His sacrifice, death, and resurrection, flows forgiveness and the promise of eternal life—a treasure more vital than any vision or power the world might display.
The parable of the rich man and Lazarus speaks to this truth. In his comfort, the rich man ignored the beggar's plea and, even in the afterlife, sought a miracle to warn his brothers. Yet Christ's words reveal that faith and grace are the true paths to salvation. If they do not heed Moses or the prophets, not even the risen will break their disbelief. It is a quiet dedication, not spectacle, that leads to the divine.
Mercy and grace, received through Christ, extend from us to others, a testament to the assurance we hold. Without this peace, how can we genuinely offer grace to neighbors and strangers alike? Luke 10:20 lifts our spirits, reminding us to rejoice not in the power to perform miracles but because our names are inscribed in heaven. In this truth, our joy and assurance reside, anchored not in the miraculous but in the steadfast love of Christ.
Salvation assured is a divine embrace, a place of rest and belonging in the faith we've laid. It is not in the fleeting wonders of the world but in the eternal, unfurling love of Christ where our true treasure lies. This assurance of salvation, our beacon and anchor, is the quiet miracle that holds our world together.
May this message bring you comfort and strengthen your faith. Let us find peace in the eternal embrace of Christ's love.
Blessings,
Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 7, 2024)
