Echoes of Justice: A Call to Action (06/07/'24) -Statement

Echoes of Justice: A Call to Action (A Reflection on Jeremiah's Lament) In a world where shadows mask the light, Jeremiah's cry echoes through the night: "Lord, why do wicked men succeed, while honest hearts in silence bleed?" The rich, with lawyers by their side, bend and hide in courts of law, while the poor and weak are unjustly spurned and burned by life's harsh lessons. Hypocrisy, a mirror's gaze, reflects the falsehoods we all praise. Yet in our hearts, a truth we seek—a justice for the strong and weak. The prophets spoke of days like these, where the wicked flourish like trees. But transient is their hollow gain, for justice comes through heaven's reign. We must not merely stand and sigh but act and lift our voices high. For in our hands lies the power to change, to rearrange this worldly stage. We must self-examine, lay our hearts bare, and eradicate hypocrisy's snare. We must advocate for those who fall, for justice, mercy, for all. Community, a beacon bright, stands against the darkness of the night. We must uplift the weak, defend their plight, and, with steadfast faith, pursue the right. In faith, we find a guiding star—that justice is not distant, but near. Through acts both small and great, we shape the course and change the fate. Divine justice, though delayed, will pierce through every hidden shade. Let us strive, with hearts sincere, to build a world that’s just and clear. Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 7, 2024)
