Subject: The True Enemy (06/07/'24) -Message
Subject: The True Enemy
Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. Today, I want to share some reflections on a profound truth I've come to understand: the enemy of the self is not suffering; it's idolatry.
Idolatry turns our worship toward the self, projected and objectified. It is our heart's desire to find security and meaning in something or someone other than God's Love and Will. Remember the commandment to love God and others as yourself. In all idolization lies self-idolization, a twisted reflection of divine purpose. Every heart happy in idolatry is walking in evil.
We are reminded, "You shall not make for yourself an idol." Idolatry is when you worship what you should use and use what you should worship. This perversion of divine order is a deceit of the soul.
Let us not be idolators. Seek truth in God's love and find purpose in His will. The true enemy of the self is not suffering; it's idolatry.
Blessings,
Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 7, 2024)
