Manna for the Soul (06/13/'24) -Message
Manna for the Soul
Dear Friends,
In the wilderness of our lives, where the echoes of hunger resonate through the parched air, a profound truth emerges like a whisper from the divine. "We cannot live on bread alone," says the voice of wisdom, ancient and eternal. The bread that nourishes our bodies is but a shadow of the sustenance our souls crave. God humbled us, letting hunger speak its silent sermon, and fed us with manna, a heavenly mystery unknown to our fathers. This was a lesson woven into the fabric of our existence, a reminder that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
This word, let it dwell richly within us, for it is our life, our guiding star in the darkest night. As we journey through this temporal realm, these words are our sustenance, our anchor in the storm. "Truly I say to you," the promise unfolds, "there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of heaven." A glimpse of eternity, a foretaste of the divine, granted to those whose hearts are open, whose spirits are attuned to the celestial melody.
But there is a warning, a shadow that tempers the light. "Who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God." The choice is laid bare before us, a path of faith or denial, of courage or fear. Stand firm, let the truth be known, for the bread of heaven nourishes not the body alone, but the spirit, the soul, the essence of who we are. In this truth, we find our strength, our purpose, our eternal home.
In the wilderness of our lives, amidst the hunger and the yearning, may we remember: we cannot live on bread alone. The words of God, eternal and true, are the manna that feeds our deepest hunger, the light that guides us home.
Blessings,
Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 13, 2024)
