Subject: The Perils of Idolatry (06/07/'24) -Statement

Subject: The Perils of Idolatry (Recognizing the True Enemy of the Self) Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you well. Today, I want to share an important realization: the enemy of the self is not suffering; it is idolatry. Idolatry misguides our worship towards the self, projected and objectified, leading us to seek security and meaning in things or people other than God's Love and Will. We are called to love God and others as ourselves. In all idolization lies self-idolization, distorting our divine purpose. Every heart content in idolatry is straying into evil. The commandment is clear: "You shall not make for yourself an idol." Idolatry is when you worship what you should use and use what you should worship, a deceit of the soul and a perversion of divine order. Let us not fall into idolatry. Instead, seek truth in God's love and find purpose in His will. The true enemy of the self is not suffering; it is idolatry. Blessings, Pastor Steven G. Lee (June 7, 2024)
